This girl is one hot potato!

I think I need to play with a few looks and see what I can come up with. What do you lovelies think?

So we have a winner of the coastal scents shimmer palette

notd

Seriously I'm beyond obsessed with all of these fall colors!

Today's color is Essie's Power Clutch. It's a deep gray-green similar to a gun metal color. It's deep enough to have a black polish vibe but warm enough to be it's own statement color.

So in love!

I've found it!

Girls the search may be over!

After a long search and maybe even a meanie minie moe between two dresses we have a winner. I'm having a dress made that looks like the absolutely stunning Marchesa number Michelle Trachtenberg wore to The School of American Ballet Winter Ball.

It's the perfect amount of elegance. I'm going in for all of my measurements tomorrow and then it's a waiting game. I'm so excited to see how it turns out

What was my runner up dress you ask?
None other than Mandy Moore's Monique Lhuillier Mermaid gown she wore to the 2011 Golden Globes

Absolutely stunning!
Ciao Bellas!

Marine Corps Ball shopping!!! Now who's with me!?

Well hey there pretty ladies! The time has come where I have to start looking for this years Marine Corps Ball dress.

Hubby and I didn't go last year since I had the flu but this year I am super pumped to go. I've got just under 2 months to get ready. Time to turn up the gym time.

So while looking online at some options, I came across a bunch of ideas of what NOT to wear. the MC Ball never fail has it's fair share of girls who dress like little slut sluts. Think post surgery Heidi Montag meets My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding reception. Said girls can usually be seen grinding on the dance floor not only with their date but  with every other girl's date as well.

CLASSY!

These are dresses you would typically see on said Montag look-a-like

This one is a particular favorite as anyone who is anyone must have half of their breast exposed.

No night is complete without a 90% chance of a wardrobe malfunction. Easy on the dancing in this little number.

Is it me or is the slit on this one surprisingly not high enough to suit the rest of the dress.

I want a dress that let's me show off the girls AND wrap myself in sequins.
A dress I can wear again. From a night on the town to the Adult Movie Awards.

Smilers wear a crown, losers wear a frown.

See what I mean!

So far these are the dresses I'm trying to choose between. Because My husbands unit is relatively small I think I want to go more elegant with a few embellishments.

What do you lovely ladies think?
This is going to be a seriously  tough choice!

I quite like this one as it would match quite a bit of the hubsters uniform but I don't know if I like the jewels on it. Wonder if I could remove them.

A little notd and ootd

One of the best things about fall, aside from all of the boots (heaven) are all of the neutral earth tones and deep jewel tones you can incorporate into your daily outfits.

What better way to get a leg up this season than on your nails!

Check out Essie's fall line

eotd and a hair overhaul

Guess who is actually feeling chilly this morning. It's supposed to be in the 50's and 60's for the rest of the week and ordinarily I would be embracing that but I think I might be coming down with a little cold (danke to the hubby). I'm actually wrapped up in a blanket. How sad am I right now?

Any who, I'm in a bit of a pickle because I'm starting to consider ditching the blonde locks and opting to go back to my natural hair color. Enough of my roots are starting to come in on the bottom so maybe I'll just have Lisa, hair dresser extraordinaire, overhaul my look.

see what I mean?!

What do you girls think? Should I go back to brunette

I've been taking a page out of little miss Lauren Conrad's book these last few days and have gone eye shadow free. Only concealer, mascara and eyeliner have been used. I think I kind of like it.

I may have been due for a little shine control here. You get the idea.

Giveaway!

Hello lovelies! So I'm putting together a little giveaway I think you'll like.

I know Coastal Scents is a pretty popular brand for multi color palettes so of course about a year ago, I took the plunge and picked up 2 different sets. The Ultra Shimmer 88 and the Neutral 28 palettes. I really liked that I could take the 28 with me in my carry-on when I travel, but can play with the multitude of colors in the 88 palette without spending a bunch of money on a shade I'd use on the rare.

So what better way to try it out for yourself than in a giveaway! I'm going to do the Ultra Shimmer 88 this month and perhaps the Warm Palette next month.

Would ya just check out these colors!

4 ways to enter!

Tell me you aren't loving this! I've been playing with Essie's Matte About You and I think I'm absolutely smitten with the outcome of this notd.

This little OPI number is You Don't Know Jacques. He started off shiny then after a coat of Essie, he's looking pretty matte. I'm way into this!

You Don't Know Jacques - mattified!

ootd and one hell of a game

Please tell me you all watched the University of Michigan v. Notre Dame game last night. Talk about intense! I picked up a shift for a girlfriend at work while she rocked it at the Toby Keith concert. I was lucky enough to have the remote control for the main TV in our office. I swear I barely sat down during the game.

It was UofM's first night game at the Big House which still blows my mind. I bet after last night's win, they might have a few more through out the years.

The most awe inspiring play came when QB Denard Robinson threw a 16 yard pass with 2 seconds on the clock  to Roy Roundtree for a TD. Insane! 35-31 Michigan. I may have jumped up and down in my cubicle quite a bit. It was absolutely brilliant.

Oh Blue, how I love thee!

Here they are ladies. Obviously Thursday was grungy house cleaning day. I really know how to spend a day off.
